Teaching a Teenager to Drive

Yes, I've had the priviledge of teach two teens to drive - my daughter and a friend's son.

My daughter had the benefit of driving with her mom and me for a long time, with her permit, before getting her "real" license.

My friends son had no such advantage. He got his license before having much road experience. And it showed. But he worked hard and got better over time.

I pass on two suggestions that both my pupils heard me preach. They are no-brainers but great advice for teens (or any driver for that matter).

1) Do not drive faster than your comfort level or experience allows.

2) Do not tail gate.

Basic stuff, huh.
